hello
I am wondering if you have any records showing that my grandfather, William Phillips Cash (born at Bilsby in 1860s) was an original shareholder in Huttoft village Hall? He was a lay preacher and very involved in the methodist Chapel all his life. He owned Cash's stores and died in 1933 and is buried in Huttoft churchyard. I would be interested to see any records which may be availble naming him as a regular supporter of the Chapel.

Thanks Janett Thornalley

I am a great-grandson of Thomas Phillips and Sarah Jane, nee Lingard, who immigrated to Queensland in 1883, our branch of the family coming to New Zealand in 1904. They were clearly associated with the Primitive Methodists in Saltfleetby as shown by the inscription in a book 'Foxe's Book of Martyrs' given to my grandmother's brother, Thomas, in December 1878. Thomas was born in 1865, and died in Queensland in 1884. My grandmother joined The Salvation Army in Brisbane and became a Salvation Army officer. I would like to think her Primitive Methodist upbringing bore fruit not only in her life, but also in the lives of many of her descendants.

I have been told by a distant elderly relative that the Church in Saltfleetby is still there, but I cannot find mention of it on your website. Are you able to tell me a little about this church, so significant in our family life? Would someone by chance have a digital image of the church to share with us?

With many thanks

Bramwell Cook

I used to be minster at SOLOBY, where there were 3 Methodist Churches, east, West & Central, which was the Prim I don't quite know, but I will make some enquiries. Alan B
