On a wet and windy day in mid July 40 people, supporting Trusthorpe Methodist Church, sat to share in a
five course Christmas lunch at the Alford Manse. The weather was unable to deter enjoyment of the menu
consisting of Fruit Punch, Florida Cocktail or Soup, Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, Christmas
Pudding, Mince Pie with Coffee, chocolate mint and nuts and raisins.
After lunch people delighted in singing Christmas Carols before taking time to browse amongst the stalls
including: name the teddy, bran tub, raffle, have a picture taken with Father Christmas, books and other
Christmas items. There was also a Christmas Prayer Tree.
The Christmas themed weekend culminated in the evening service at Trusthorpe Methodist Church, where
Carols were intigrated with the lectionary theme of "wheat and tares".
All in all a lot of fun was had and the grand sum of £472 was raised for the Church toward the new Sound System
.
